DEPARTMENT 56 DICKENS VILLAGE-A ROB MCINTOSH TRADITION
Department 56 Villages (Dickens, Snow Village, New England Village, Alpine Village, Christmas in the City and the North Pole) were founded in 1976 in a retail florist shop called Bachman’s in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. A young man called Ed Bazinet (a talented florist) talked the Bachman family into investing $50,000 to start a new section of small ceramic houses in their company’s Department 56 division. The D56 brand began with the “Original Snow Villlage” collection of 6 houses. The first collection begun in the “Heritage Village” was the porcelain Dickens Village (started in 1984) which is Canada’s absolute favourite village by miles. These houses depict the time of Charles Dickens and relate to the stories that he wrote.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL: This quintessential Christmas classic by Charles Dickens tell the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a greedy old geezer who has a life-changing encounter with a series of spirits on Christmas Eve.
